Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Charities® Atlantic. We could not do the work that we do without the dedication and compassion of our volunteers.

Volunteers provide more than a meal, a clean space, or a listening ear at our House and Family Rooms; they give the gift of time so that families can spend more time together.

Program Volunteers

Our Program Volunteers are asked to commit four hours weekly for a minimum of eight months. Candidates must pass screening and be at least 18 years old.

Each day at Ronald McDonald House and our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms is different. Our volunteers are able to contribute in a variety of ways, including:

  • Hosting activities for children and families
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of our space
  • Supporting the front office

If you are ready to make the commitment to our families and organization, please fill out our online application:

Halifax Opportunities: Halifax online application.
Moncton Opportunities: Moncton online application.

If you are interested in a group volunteering opportunity, check out our Home for Dinner Program.

Reception Volunteers

We’re looking for Reception Volunteers who are interested in helping to create a warm, welcoming environment for our families. Duties will include checking families in and out of the House, helping with office administration tasks, providing tours and room checks, and much more. This role requires daytime availability during the week.

Event Day Volunteers

If you are looking for an exciting but short-term volunteer opportunity, then one of our event-specific volunteer positions might be right for you! Though many volunteers choose to lend a hand at multiple events, event volunteers only need to commit to one event at a time. These shifts are typically four to six hours in length on evenings and weekends. Some of our event volunteer opportunities include McHappy Day, our PJ Walk for Kids or our annual Golf Classic.
